We recently had my sons 18th party at the venue. From the first phone call to enquire about the venue to the night of the party. The manager Jacob was very helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The bar staff on the night were very friendly. A lot of the guests commented on what a great night it was. The DJ Marc was really good and played Jacobs playlist and even a couple of songs that I requested a couple of hours before the party. Marc even told me at the end of the night how much he enjoyed it. Would highly recommend the venue. Mel

This was a wonderful venue for our joint fiftieth birthday celebration. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and the space was ideal. It was really well organised. I couldn’t recommend more.

Lock91 thank you for all your help in planning and hosting an amazing 21st birthday party for our son especially Andi . All members of staff where brilliant and everyone who helped us celebrate couldn’t say enough about the venue and the great time they all had . We hired the room downstairs with the outside terrace which was a fab space and great atmosphere for our party Thank you all again.

We had a party here to celebrate our wedding ceremony held earlier in the day. We wanted something informal but with character. The location was perfect.
Andi was really helpful in getting us organised and helping us to plan the party.
We used Mancheter Catering Company who served Indian food from the outside hut in the venue. It was great food and the staff were really organised and friendly.
All the staff at Lock 91 were very helpful and supportive on the day. Jacob was the staff member looking after us, he was really welcoming and helpful throughout. The bar staff were also really great, helping us set up the screen so we could show some photos and supporting us to get our playlist going.
Our family and friends were very complimentary on the venue and the staff.
We were able to arrange a drinks package ready for when guests arrived and planned for pizzas to be delivered later on in the night. Staff at Lock 91 put this onto plates and prepared it for guests.
We would recommend this venue as we were encouraged to make the day our own. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful in making this day run smoothly and ensuring it was memorable for us.

We had a fantastic evening celebrating my husbands 40th at this venue.

Organising it all with Andi was easy and all the staff on the night were great and really helpful with any requests we had!

The attic was the perfect venue, with a great private bar and toilets for the event, and cocktails were delicious too!

We used their recommended pizza supplier which went down a treat and we enjoyed our time there from start to finish!

Earlier this summer we held a joint birthday party at Lock91. We were extremely impressed with the venue, bar staff and especially Beth who worked diligently to ensure we had a fantastic evening. The catering recommendation was just perfect too. We will use you again for sure!

We had our wedding reception at lock 91 and it was the most perfect venue for us, it was so easy and nothing was too much trouble, the place itself is stunning and every picture we took looked unreal because of the decor. The staff went above and beyond especially Beth she helped with everything and the night was simply perfect from start to finish, we never wanted it to end. Thank you for making our special unforgettable!

We hired the whole of Lock 91 for our wedding reception in July 2022 and we could not have been happier with our choice of venue and how the day went. It’s a perfect place if you want a relaxed pub, bar and club feel, all in the same building, run by a friendly and accommodating team.

Planning began well with Andi in his old role being organised and clear from the outset, offering helpful direction and advice, sharing learnings from other events and ensuring everything was covered. Beth then joined the team and made sure we went into the day with our minds at rest; everything had been thought through so that there were no last minute hiccups, even helping me out with a task I was unable to do in advance of the day by sorting out a last minute pizza delivery. And to be honest, even if things had gone wrong, we would have been totally unaware because they were excellent at making sure there were no disruptions.

The team were also really helpful in accommodating our needs. Due to it being an old lock keepers cottage there is no lift in the building, which was problematic for a specific guest with mobility issues. However Beth made sure that time and assistance was given to them efficiently without causing a scene or any disruption when going up and down the stairs. It also helped that there were accessible toilets on all 3 floors of the building.
Also they accommodated us by having desserts supplied by our friends and family, which arrived at different times on the day, and Beth and the team helped make the display of them really nice

A few of our initial concerns thankfully never came to pass:
– We were worried that spending 4pm to 2.30am in the same building would be too much, however it never felt like an issue because of the multiple spaces available (outdoor terrace on the canal, parlour, reception, attic spread across 3 floors with a well stocked and friendly bar team on each). Beth helped split up the day by making sure that we only used 2 floors at a time (ground floor and lower ground floor/terrace, and then ground floor+attic), and also coordinating people so that we were not too spaces out or crammed in any areas. There were also a few classic board games to keep kids (and some adults) entertained.
– It was a really hot day and we thought that spending all day inside might be uncomfortable, however with the right combination of doors open and air-conditioning in the attic it was perfect, the the team knew what they were doing to get it right
– Lock91 is at the end of the bustling Deansgate Locks strip of bars and clubs, but you would not have known this and we were never disturbed by noise or unwanted visitors. Thomas the friendly doorman had things covered 🙂
– Food was supplied by an external caterer of Lock91’s choosing (Manchester Catering Co) with the logistics managed between Lock91 and the caterers directly, and we worked with Lock91 on the food choices and payment. We opted for bowl-food instead of a sit-down meal to accommodate food for 85 guests: our concern was how the food service would be organised to ensure everyone was able to get a choice of available options, but it worked really well in the end and everyone was complimentary of how it went (even though one member of the serving staff had mistakenly been telling people the vegetable moussaka was lasagne 😉 )

We would definitely choose Lock91 again for an event. We understand that the venue are in negotiations to develop the vacant space opposite the entrance to make a new terrace which would be an amazing addition in good weather because the downstairs terrace was rammed in the sunshine.

We had my partners 40th birthday party here and everyone had a brilliant night. Lots commented how great the venue was, including a friend who is going to book her party later in the year. The staff were all excellent, everything ran smoothly, we can’t fault anything. We would definitely book again for future parties. Thanks to all the staff at Lock 91 for a fantastic night!

The Attic & Study area is a perfect room for a party… my guests commented all night on how fabulous the venue and the staff were. The layout of the room helped people to mingle and we loved that it had its own large bar area with quirky decor.
The bar staff were amazing and thank you for all your help and being so attentive.
Would highly recommend!

I had a lovely 40th do downstairs at Lock 91. I wanted somewhere chilled with outdoor space where my friends and family could drink amazing cocktails….and we found the perfect place!

Staff were great, even when we drank the bar out of prosecco and they had to send out for more. Far too much fun was had, and so many of my guests have said that it was a really cool venue – a hidden gem! Really easy to book and organise would highly recommend!

The venue it’s self is gorgeous & having the Terrace attached was such a nice touch!
Beth communicated so well throughout the whole process & made everything very easy. She even helped my friends decorate the venue & laid all our pizzas out for us too! 🙂

Amazing venue for our wedding reception – we loved every minute of it. The team at Lock 91 couldn’t have been more helpful & friendly throughout the booking process and were super attentive on the night checking in to make sure everything was running smoothly and we were happy. The DJ Marc that the team helped arrange for us was amazing too – would recommend to anyone!

The Parlour in Lock 91 was the perfect venue for a work leaving do of around 20 people. The weather was just warm enough to allow us to enjoy the outdoor terrace which really made the space special. Andi and Beth were both excellent and ensured everything ran smoothly. I would highly recommend using Lock 91 for your event.

We used Lock91 for our reception and honestly can’t praise them enough. We’ll done guys and we’ll be back a year to the day !!

Booked this venue for a corporate event, and it was an absolute delight.

Setup was quick and went according to what we’d agreed on.
We felt listened to: Beth and the Lock 91 team were fantastic in communicating with us once we’d arrived, and throughout the night any issues we had were resolved promptly.
Drinks service was faultless, prosecco was good quality, and there was a good range of beers.

Thanks for a fantastic evening, and we will no doubt be back soon.

I had my 21st birthday party in the attic space in March 2022. The staff were all lovely and accommodating and the space was perfect. Everyone had such a lovely time and I’m so glad I picked this venue.

We used the DJ that was recommended to us by the venue, Gavin, and he was absolutely fabulous .

My daughter and her fiancé had their engagement party here in January 2022 and the staff were all so helpful from the start to finish ! We had an amazing party and it was a perfect location and venue ! Would highly recommend and thankyou to all the staff.

I held my 30th birthday at Lock 91, and it was a fabulous night! Everything ran very smoothly, and Caitlyn who was supervising my event helped me along the way so I could relax and have fun. The team are all super friendly and will explain all the details and put you at ease. The Lock 91 team are clearly very experienced at putting on events as everything is so well organised, so that you can relax and have fun. I would definitely recommend this space to anyone!

I held my 30th party in the Lounge/ Terrace area downstairs. The venue was booked over the phone, the manager very informative and easily able to contact for arrangements prior to the event. On the evening I was introduced to the staff members and my guests were really well looked after, they were offered blankets for the terrace and there was a large selection of drinks/ spirits and beers available. I would definitely recommend this venue for booking an event.

We held a party in the Attic bar for around 60 people with four live music acts playing. Organised our own sound system and catering – the Lock 91 team couldn’t have been more helpful with the preparation, arrangements and setting up to accommodate everything. Everyone was blown away by the venue – full of character, good selection of drinks and great bar staff. All worked out perfectly for the evening – a bar at one end, music at the other and a bunch of very happy people in-between. Would definitely go back for an event there again.

Andi and his team were just brilliant from start to finish. Really laid back and helpful with the planning as well as on the night. We planned our wedding reception with them, which had to be rescheduled and changed due to the pandemic, and we always felt really supported through everything.
We loved the vibe of Lock 91 and would recommend it to anyone who is throwing a party.

We hired out the full venue for our wedding this August. Andi and Alex were absolute superstars, making sure that everything ran smoothly, both in the run up to the wedding and on the day itself.
We were able to visit several times before the big day which meant we got to know the space and the staff really well. They were totally accommodating of our ideas as well as offering great ideas of their own. We really cannot praise them highly enough. (I’m sure building a large cardboard train is above and beyond their job remit!).
The venue itself was absolutely perfect – it’s cool, relaxed, fun and great for a party. So many of our guests complimented the venue as it was so different. We would totally recommend Lock 91 for anyone thinking about getting married in Manchester.
We had such an amazing day and couldn’t have wished for anything more – so much of that is due to the hard work of the fabulous Lock 91 team.

Lock91 were so accommodating with our exclusive booking on their outdoor terrace. We had an excellent night full of great drinks and a lovely atmosphere. We were able to decorate the terrace the way we wanted and ordered food there too. The staff were so helpful, helping to decorate and assistant with any needs. Would definitely go again for a party!

I rented out the private terrace area last month for 30 people. It was perfect, the venue was great and we had loads of room. The staff were fantastic all day and night, they couldn’t do enough for us. We ordered food to be delivered and they put this out for us on plates as a buffet. I have used this bar on numerous times for different events and I can honestly say each time gets better and better. We will be back!

My fiance and I went for our first drink here, and decided to have our engagement party in the Attic room upstairs. Alex and Cherish were fantastic and kept in touch with us leading up to the night letting us know what was available and catered to everything we needed. All the bar staff and doormen were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Thank you guys for helping make it such a fantastic night!

Thank you for helping to make my daughters leaving party special. The lounge area and terrace was perfect for what she wanted. You looked after everyone so well making sure the afternoon was perfect. We loved the privacy whilst had lovely views of Deansgate lock. We brought our own food and DJ, everything was made so easy for us right from the first phone call. We will definitely be booking again for future events.

We booked Lock 91 for our wedding party and it was fantastic! Alex was our contact person who was just brilliant; he was really helpful and re-assuring and we knew we were in good hands as soon as we had that first meeting. The whole team were so thorough and professional and they clearly knew what they were doing when it came to events and catering, etc. The venue itself is full of character and charm, with a quirky edge to it and in a great location. The food was all made by Lee at Circle Events, who likewise was very attentive and creative with the dishes and the food was absolutely delicious (we went for vegetarian catering). Everyone loved it and went home talking about the wonderful food and great venue! We were a party of about 70, and it began downstairs in the Lounge & Terrace with canapes and sandwiches, then soup and fish and chips served from outside. It was February but the sheltered terrace was surprisingly cosy and there was plenty of room for everyone to eat and drink and mingle, inside or out. Later we moved upstairs to the Attic for music and dancing, then more food later on and it just had a great atmosphere up there, everyone was in a great mood! I can only thank the staff of Lock 91 and Circle Events for providing the best day we could imagine and we will definitely be back in for a drink soon! I can thoroughly recommend them!

My partner and I received the gin tasting experience as a christmas gift. A little reserved at first bit we had a fantastic time. The lock 91 bar team were great and very helpful. Dave leading the drinkology session was very knowledgeable, explaining the history of each gin we tasted and how to identify and link each gin with its garnish. Dave said he was unwell, but we really couldn’t tell because the session was delivered brilliantly (despite some loud groups). Thank you very much lock 91… a lovely, boozy, educational afternoon.

Attended rum tasting event. Was absolutely brilliant. Very informative speaker, good mix of attendees, really enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon!

I had the best birthday party at Lock 91 in the attic area thanks to Alex and all of the team. I knew exactly what I wanted – including some rather out there requests like a silent disco, balloon ceiling and a room decked out with shimmer curtains – but nothing was too much trouble for Alex who was really supportive in helping me make my vision come to life. I was able to visit the venue several times in the run up to the event – Alex even helped me measure every inch of the rooms so I was clear on what decorations I’d need – and I was able to set up in the day before my party meaning that there was plenty of time to get everything as I wanted it. Lock91 put me in touch with a brilliant DJ called Mark too who helped me get the silent disco up and running – my guests absolutely loved this element and it got everyone up on the dancefloor, where they then stayed for the rest of the night too! I had about 60 guests attend and the attic space which was the perfect size, the fact it has a private bar and bathroom too was also great and a real added bonus. I was also surprised at how quickly we hit the bar tab, the drinks are quite pricey but I guess that just helps ensure you’ll hit the minimum spend which is never a bad thing. But yeah, basically I can’t thank the wonderful staff at Lock 91 enough for all of their hard work and for helping me throw a party that all my friends are still talking about – massively recommend!

We held a 40th birthday party at lock 91. The party was a huge success with so many of our guests commenting on how brilliant the venue was. We had a fantastic night and the staff were amazing. Not only was everyone helpful on the night- but in the run up to the party everyone at lock 91 were so helpful and responded quickly to any questions that we had and were hands on theoughout the whole process. They let us in before they were open to set up, they helped us with all enquires, they were attentive throughout the evening and after the party was over and the clearing up process they again were fantastic -helping the DJ collect equipment supplying receipts and tidying up after us. All in all everyone at lock 91 were professional and the venue was perfect for what we required.

I booked the Lounge Bar and Terrace for my fiance’s 40th birthday party and we had an absolutely fabulous night. The venue is perfect for a party, there is a good sized bar area then another room which is done out like a living room with tables, chairs and a fireplace then there is a large covered terrace by the canal.

Music wise we just used our iPad which you can plug in to their sound system and control the volume yourself and the music also goes outside on to the terrace. From the point of booking all the way through to the party night, the staff were extremely helpful and really friendly and checked how things were going all evening and kept us up to date with the bar spend so we knew how we were getting on in making sure we spent the minimum spend.

Everybody commented on what a great venue it was and how helpful and friendly the staff were. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a fun, relaxed party, we will be back!

We celebrated my boyfriends 30th Birthday at lounge and terrace.Everything went really well,all staff were great and polite.

Had an Ibiza / Studio 54 themed 40th in the Attic at Lock 91. The staff were fantastic – completely got what I was trying to achieve and helped me transform the venue into the ultimate disco-chic establishment.

Throughout the process the staff kept me up to date of what I needed to do to ensure my party was a success. On the night the bar staff were brilliant. Cherish was an absolute star, and made sure everything ran smoothly. The rest of the team were great too, and many of my guests commented on how friendly and professional they were.

Held our wedding party in the attic – faultless venue. The service was excellent, everything ran very smoothly. We provided our food and they kept it replenished and the tables were kept tidy all evening. All staff extremely helpful, wonderful evening. We had decorations which they helped put up, and could play our own playlist for the night. Great for when everyone was arriving then dancing all night long. Couldn’t recommend enough!

I hired the top floor room for my leaving drinks with work, what an amazing building with fantastic features throughout. Certainly one of Manchester finer pubs/bars. I can not fault the staff, considering the amount of people that turned up, nobody waited ages for drinks, staff were very attentive and very pleasant. Only that I am off to Liverpool I would certainly be back. I would like to thank Sam and Andi for all of their help in arranging this great night.

We held an engagement party in the Lounge & Terrace at Lock 91 which was fantastic! Exclusive basement floor with two sitting rooms, private bar and lovely outdoor terrace on the canal. The staff on the night were fantastic- from making bespoke cocktails, to organising our drinks reception/ food and literally tending to any of our needs! From booking months in advance the venue was really helpful with organising everything- even discussing room decorations and party props. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas as we held the party in December.

Only thing I would say was the music wasn’t loud enough, it was great for background music but not when everyone wanted to dance. Needless to say, we had a fantastic night and made some special memories. I would highly recommend holding an event at Lock91.

We recently held our wedding reception at Lock 91 and what an amazing day we had. When searching for the perfect venue to hold our wedding we stumbled upon Lock 91 by chance and we are extremely grateful that we did. The location was perfect for us and our guests travelling from all over the country.

As a laid back couple we wanted a venue that would be just that too. During the numerous meetings we had at the venue, Andy could not do enough for us. He listened to our suggestions and advised on things that would help make the day run as smoothly as it did. Nothing was too big or too small to ask for. He made it clear from day one that it was our day and we could have what we wanted.

The whole team went above and beyond to ensure the day was what we wanted. The team on the night were great too. They did everything in their powers to make sure our guests were happy – and us of course. The way they work together is a credit to Andy who has trained his staff to be amazing. There weren’t many people who had heard of the venue and some were a little bit dubious about it when we were trying to explain what it was like. EVERYONE commented on how amazing the venue was and how much of a great time they had.

If you are looking for a venue that is different, quirky, laid back, comfortable then this is the venue for you. If you go and visit you won’t be disappointed.

We were recommended to use this venue when let down by someone else and it couldn’t have gone better. The organisation was straight forward, the staff superb, beautiful venue (we were upstairs in the Attic) and it was a very enjoyable evening for everyone involved.
